MTHS Virtual+ Course Offerings | Frequently Asked Questions

My child returned their school textbook/course resources. How will they prepare for the course? All course content, resources, and assessments will be delivered digitally through our virtual learning platform, EdgeEx. Students do not need a physical textbook, and our certified staff will be available to guide and support them throughout the course’s learning modules.

How does this course work? Each week, students will receive a new set of learning activities to complete through EdgeEx. These weekly modules must be finished by the end of each week. If students need additional help, in-person support is available every Thursday at MTHS, where our teachers will provide one-on-one or small group assistance.

The course mentions 60 required hours, can these be completed at any time? Yes! The 60-hour requirement is flexible. Students can work on their weekly modules any time, day or night, as long as they stay on track. We encourage students to pace themselves and avoid saving all work until the end of the week.

Are there teachers assigned to this course? Yes! While the final staffing assignments are still being finalized, we’ve hand-selected passionate and dedicated educators who are committed to supporting our Virtual+ learners all summer long.

How are quizzes, tests, and homework assigned and graded? All assignments, including quizzes, tests, and homework, will be completed and submitted digitally through EdgeEx. Our staff will monitor student progress and provide feedback. Accommodations will be available for students who need them.

How are grades evaluated? Grades will be based on student performance on digital assessments, which will be scored using approved rubrics and grading scales to ensure fairness and consistency.

When is the final exam? The final exam will be delivered as part of the final week’s learning module on EdgeEx.

What is the format of the final exam? The final assessment is embedded directly into the final week’s digital content. Students will complete it as they would any other module.

My child returned their school-issued iPad. Is a device required for the course? Yes. Students will need access to a device for Virtual+ Summer School. Your child will be able to reclaim their school iPad, or they may use any internet-connected device that can access the EdgeEx platform.

If you have additional questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support your child’s success this summer!
